In a digital landscape where blockchain projects rise and fall at lightning speed, few companies have demonstrated long-term conviction and strategic patience quite like MegaHoot Technologies. At the center of that vision stands Louis Velazquez, the company’s CEO, who has steered MegaHoot through multiple evolutions in blockchain technology, from early experimentation with Bitcoin to full integration and development on the Pecu Novus Blockchain Network.
I sat down with Velazquez to talk about why MegaHoot chose Pecu Novus as the foundation for its ecosystem, the company’s role in the blockchain’s growth and how its products are driving global inclusion, transparency, and innovation across multiple industries.
From Bitcoin Escrow to Pecu Novus Stewardship
Q: Louis, MegaHoot has a long history in blockchain. How did this all begin, and what led you to Pecu Novus?
A: “Our blockchain journey started back when Bitcoin was still in its early stages,” Velazquez explained. “We developed an escrow and vault system for the Bitcoin network to help secure digital transactions between parties, but as we evolved, it became clear that Bitcoin’s infrastructure couldn’t support the scalability or innovation we envisioned.”
That realization sparked a pivot. “We discovered Pecu Novus in its early days and saw something different,” he said. “It wasn’t just another blockchain, it was designed for growth, adaptability and longevity. We believed it could evolve not just for the next five years, but forever, as technology and user needs changed.”
MegaHoot’s belief in that vision was soon tested. For two years, the company fought to be appointed the stewards of the Pecu Novus Blockchain after the original founders began to forgo innovation, this would put MegaHoot at the heart of being responsible for maintenance, infrastructure innovation, and growth. “Without that stewardship,” Velazquez admitted, “Pecu Novus might never have evolved into what it is today.”
The Evolution of Pecu Novus: From Protocol to Themis
Pecu Novus has undergone a remarkable transformation since its inception. From its original protocol, it evolved to Pecu 2.0 in 2022, introducing the revolutionary Proof of Time (PoT) consensus mechanism, a breakthrough in efficiency and sustainability.
Now, in 2025, the release of Pecu 3.0 “Themis” marks another milestone, merging Proof of Time with Proof of Stake (PoS) for enhanced sustainability, scalability, and performance.
With MegaHoot guiding the technical and structural upgrades, Pecu Novus is now fully open source, with its GitHub repository released in Rust, enabling developers worldwide to contribute, build, and innovate. “The open-source release is a major moment,” Velazquez noted. “It’s about transparency, collaboration, and giving developers the tools to expand the network.”
Future additions in TypeScript, GoLang, and Solidity are already slated to further broaden its developer accessibility.
Building the Ecosystem: ChatHive, HootDex, and XMG Fintech
MegaHoot has built an interconnected digital ecosystem powered by Pecu Novus, including ChatHive, a secure superapp that merges blockchain-driven communication and productivity tools; HootDex, a decentralized exchange offering FIX API and SDK integration for institutions; and XMG Fintech, a suite of blockchain-based financial tools that simplify settlement and cross-border finance.
At the core of all these systems is Pecu Novus, powering real-time, on-chain transactions, security protocols, and tokenized utilities. “Everything we build connects back to Pecu Novus,” Velazquez emphasized. “It’s our foundation, and we’re expanding it across industries, from fintech and AI to manufacturing, healthcare, and communications.”
Empowering Global Users: The Pecu Wallet and Terminal
A cornerstone of MegaHoot’s mission is true global inclusion, embodied in the peer-to-peer Pecu Wallet and Pecu Terminal. These tools empower individuals and businesses with secure cold storage, escrow services, token creation capabilities, and the ability to build their own digital asset treasury, all within a simple, user-friendly interface.
Perhaps most notably, anyone, anywhere can participate in securing the network through validator node hosting, even without coding experience. “We designed the validator system so that anyone, whether in New York or Nairobi, can contribute to the Pecu Novus network,” Velazquez said. “That’s what decentralization really means, power to the people.”
For those with more technical expertise, nodes can still be hosted directly via the Pecu Novus blockchain, but the simplified process represents a massive leap toward accessibility and inclusion.
A Treasury Built for the Future
In a move that reflects deep commitment to its own ecosystem, MegaHoot Technologies has adopted a PECU-focused digital asset treasury strategy, currently holding over US$700 million in value at current market prices as of this inteview.
“This isn’t about speculation,” Velazquez clarified. “It’s about building long-term value and reinforcing our confidence in the network we’re helping to grow. Every system we develop generates PECU velocity, which strengthens the treasury and, in turn, our capacity for innovation.”
Revenue streams from trading fees, platform monetization, and ecosystem expansion are helping sustain that innovation, creating a self-reinforcing cycle between ecosystem growth and treasury value.
What’s Next: The USXM Integration and Cross-Border Payments
Looking forward, MegaHoot is developing a payment portal system that will integrate the USXM stablecoin, pegged to the U.S. dollar, and PECU as base tokens for cross-border transactions and settlements.
“This system will streamline international payments for individuals and businesses,” Velazquez said. “Our goal is to make blockchain-based settlement as simple as sending an email, instant, transparent, and borderless.”
The Road Ahead
MegaHoot’s path hasn’t been easy, but Velazquez describes it as “the journey of a lifetime.”
“We’ve fought hard to position Pecu Novus and MegaHoot at the forefront of decentralized innovation,” he reflected. “We’re not just building blockchain technology; we’re building the future of digital infrastructure, one that merges blockchain, AI, and financial systems into a single, intelligent network.”
When asked if MegaHoot Technologies is considering an IPO or SPAC in the near future, Velazquez grinned.
“I can’t comment on that at the moment,” he said. “But it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.”
MegaHoot Technologies’ rise from early blockchain experimentation to Pecu Novus stewardship is a rare story of persistence and purpose. As it pioneers the integration of blockchain and AI through systems like ChatHive, HootDex, and XMG Fintech, all built on a foundation of decentralization and inclusion, the company’s influence extends far beyond its platforms.
In a rapidly shifting world of digital finance, MegaHoot isn’t chasing the future, it’s building it.
